Stay Hydrated, Clarksville!

In case you haven’t heard, or stepped outside recently, it’s hot. So hot in fact, that we’re currently under a HEAT ADVISORY until Friday night.

So remember these next few words: STAY HYDRATED!

The last thing we need is someone passing out from dehydration because they didn’t take precautions in the sun. So here are some helpful ways to remind yourself to stay hydrated throughout the day:

SET YOURSELF A REMINDER: Go into your phone right now and set a reminder for every 30 minutes to maybe not drink a WHOLE bottle/glass of water, but to at least drink enough where you don’t have that longing for water.

SET A DAILY GOAL: We’ve all seen that person who works out that has the milk container full of water that they lug around with them. Most of the time it’s like “We get it bro, you’re never thirsty. (Except for the photos you post on Insta).” But in this case, they’re on to something. Fill up that jug or huge container you have and mark it with where that water should be throughout the day.

TAKE A SEAT AND DRINK: British scientist’s say that when you go to drink your water, instead of sipping on the go, take the time to actually sit down and drink your water. They say doing so can actually TRIPLE your hydration intake levels and can become more focused in a matter of 15 minutes. So outdoor workout person, find some shade, drink your water/sports drink, and then refocus to max out your workout today.

I hope these will be beneficial. Also, if you’re out and about today and you see some construction workers, crossing guards, or just people roaming around downtown commons, if you have it in you and your budget, stop and buy them some water. It’s never really a bad time to do something nice for a stranger.

P.S. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
