Movies Hitting Clarksville Theaters This Weekend! (10-20)

Every week I like to make sure you know not only what is coming to theaters, but also how they compare on Rotten Tomatoes using Austin Peay Governor’s QB Mike Delillo’s Passing Rating. Here is what is happening this weekend:

75% – Mike Delillo’s Passing Percentage Against Gardner-Webb

25% Pain Hustlers – Emily Blunt &

Liza Drake is a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job and is at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner puts her on an upwards trajectory economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme. Dealing with her increasingly unhinged boss, the worsening medical condition of her daughter, and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices.

68% Butcher’s Crossing – Nicholas Cage & Fred Hechinger

A gritty story about buffalo hunters in the Old West. Will Andrews has left Harvard to find adventure. He teams up with Miller (Cage), a mysterious frontiersman offering an unprecedented number of buffalo pelts in a secluded valley. Their crew must survive an arduous journey where the harsh elements will test everyone’s resolve, leaving their sanity on a knife’s edge.

93% Killers Of The Flower Moon – Leonardo DiCaprio & Robert Deniro

Based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book, “Killers of the Flower Moon” is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

However I am reducing Killers Of The Flower Moon to 50% because it has a 3 hour 25 minute runtime and I don’t care how much I love the cast and director, no way am I going to see this in theaters. Most of us have kids and taking 4 hours out of our day to see a movie may seem like a great thing, but in reality, we ain’t got time for that!

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
