Update 11:49 a.m.: Whitfield Road is now open. The crash is still under investigation.

Previously: 

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A cement truck overturned on Whitfield Road Wednesday morning, spilling concrete on the roadway, and the road is closed.

Clarksville Police said both lanes are entirely closed at Blakemore Drive, and they are asking the public to avoid Whitfield between 101st Airborne Parkway and Old Trenton Road, according to police Lt. Charles Gill.

“Motorists will not get through until the truck and cement are removed from the roadway,” Beaubien said. “It is unknown how long it will take to clear the road.”
