I-24 traffic detoured due to tractor trailer fire

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The morning drive out of Clarksville caught thousands of interstate travelers in traffic after a tractor trailer with 45,000 pounds of apples caught fire around 4 a.m. Monday.

Hazmat crews responded to the scene to drain fuel from damaged tanks. No one was hurt.

Eastbound traffic on I-24 was detoured from exit 11 to exit 19.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
