We’ve gone thru a lot of actors of the years donning the Bat suit. Some can still be looked upon as one’s we’d like to see again, like Michael Keaton, and some that make you wonder what they were thinking, like George Clooney.

I was ok with Ben Affleck though much of the world was not. So now we are on to yet another Caped Crusader and some people are losing their minds at the mere idea over Robert Pattinson becoming the next Bruce Wayne. I mean, he was a sparkly vampire in Twilight after all. (Yes, I read the books and watched the movies and I liked them.)

I think many people underestimate and under appreciate Pattinson’s abilities. After the Twilight saga, I fell in love with his role in a film called Remember Me. Then was floored at his performance alongside Willem Dafoe in The Lighthouse. He is a well rounded and talented actor, but the idea of yet another Batman made me doubtful.

Then I saw the first trailer for The Batman and thought, ok, this might not be so bad. Then last week I saw a second trailer and I am now absolutely convinced that I want to see this and I have ever ounce of faith in Pattinson’s abilities.

Forget what you think about Twilight, give this man a chance and I think he’s going to surprise us all. Include Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Peter Sarsgaard, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and a totally unrecognizable Colin Farrell as the Penguin. What a cast!  And for me, March can’t get here fast enough.
