WATCH: Metallica’s Post Super Bowl Performance

HONG KONG - January 20, 2017: American heavy metal band Metallica show, Vocalist James Hetfield, Bass Guitarist Robert Trujillo, Guitarist Kirk Hammett performed on stage PHOTO: SHUTTERSTOCK Photo: Shutterstock

Nothing wrong with The Weekend and his performance during halftime of Super Bowl LV yesterday but what in the world will it take to get Metallica their long overdue turn?  I mean, I’ve lost track how many times Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield have paired up to play the National Anthem, so why the hell can’t they be chosen to perform at halftime on the biggest sports stage in the world?

At least Stephen Colbert cares! He had a special edition of The Late Show after the game last night with a performance of “Enter Sandman”. Colbert of course has been hosting the show from his living room and Metallica played with  no audience which was weird not to hear a mass of singing and screaming fans.  Probably as close as we’ll get for now, so enjoy it!
