Time to stock up on heavy duty trash bags, plastic sheeting and duck tape. I’m kidding, please don’t. But do get ready for the revival of one of the best series to ever grace television. Dexter Morgan is back, so is his “dark passenger”.
Last week at Comic-con, a new full trailer for “Dexter: New Blood” dropped and I couldn’t be more excited. Michael C. Hall was nothing short of brilliant in this role; a forensic blood splatter analyst disguised as a serial killer with a conscience. He only killed people who deserved it. Bad people. Evil people. It’s how he justified his urges, or rather, those of what he called his Dark Passenger, and we loved him for it! And then it all came to a horrible end after eight years. Horrible as in you yelled at your TV something along the lines of “WHAT? This is not really ending this way, is it?”. Kind of like you did with The Sopranos, but I digress.
“Dexter: New Blood” picks up 10 years after he went missing during Hurricane Laura. His name has changed and he’s hiding out in Upstate New York trying to live a normal life, but of course that Dark Passenger is knocking at the door once again. Michael C Hall isn’t the only familiar face we will see. Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Dexter’s sister, Deb Morgan and John Lithgow is rumored to be returning as Arthur Mitchell, better known as the Trinity Killer.
The show debuts on Showtime November 7th and it looks fabulous. Only bad news is, it’s only 10 episodes.
