Vince Neil Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut

Yea, I know, that headline makes you say “huh”? Why would the frontman to one of the biggest and most notorious rock bands of the 80’s be at the Opry? Especially just him, not all of Motely Crue.

Vince Neil and the Crue have been on the road for The Stadium Tour, along with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett, which of course just made a stop at Nissan Stadium earlier this summer after being postponed from Covid.

On Tuesday of last week, Neil apparently took advantage of an off date of the tour to make a guest appearance at the Opry House. He was introduced as an international superstar, accomplished businessman, heartfelt philanthropist  whose unmistakable voice led the greatest rock songs of a generation” and joined the house band for a couple of Crue covers from 1989’s Dr. Feelgood album.

Apparently Neil moved to Tennessee seven years ago and resides in Franklin. And here we thought Music City and the Grand Ole Opry was all about the country music!

Check out the performances of “Home Sweet Home” and “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)”.

If you missed The Stadium Tour stop in Nashville, the next closest opportunity is August 16th in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.
