Tool Drummer Arrested

I am so not a fan of TMZ. They are this generation’s National Enquirer and it’s really nothing but trash. But with that, it also means they ‘break’ news before the rest of the world thanks to the vultures that are all to willing to hit record on their phones and pass it off.

And here is where I become a bit of a hypocrite by sharing. But it’s now in the news and it involves a band that we play.

Tool drummer Danny Carey was arrested at the Kansas City Airport for an alleged assault.  Carey, who is from the area, was in town to perform with the University of Kansas Marching Band during the Kansas Jayhawks basketball game.

KC Airport Police reportedly responded to a “disturbance between two males in an airport terminal”. Of course, the video posted to TMZ is one sided. I have yet to find news on who the other male was, what the ‘disturbance’ was about or anything like that. You can hear Carey say he is the drummer for Tool and he just wants to go home. I also heard an officer tell him to stop resisting, although to my eyes, I didn’t see him doing any such thing.

Carey was taken to the police department but has since been released. He was booked on a misdemeanor assault. There has been no statement from the band at this point.
