Every year, many still complain and argue about some of the inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and whether or not they belong because they aren’t “rock and roll”. That is a discussion for another time.

This year, Pat Benetar, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton and Judas Priest were among the Class of 2022.

The 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place a few days ago and along with the inductions there were many performances. Afterall, you have a room full of legends that all have one thing in common: music.

While the ceremony was taped, it will air on HBO Max on Saturday, November 19th. But thanks to the internet, it became evident that this year’s performances are something to talk about and definitely look forward to seeing in their entirety in a couple of weeks.

One such performance was Dolly Parton and an all-star lineup that gathered to perform Dolly’s smash, “Jolene”

Dolly rocked a leather outfit that looks like it was hand-picked by the man who made leather fashionable in the world of rock and roll; the Metal God himself, Rob Halford. And really, when does Dolly not look amazing? She is the queen after all.

So, the Queen of Country and the Metal God were joined by Simon LeBon of Duran Duran, Annie Lenox of Eurythmics, Pink, Sheryl Crow, and Brandi Carlise and Pat Benetar (who also looks smashing!)  and Zac Brown.

To see the Queen and God side by side, cheek to cheek at one point, singing together just made every hair on my body stand up. Honestly, I would love to see some sort of collaboration between them happen. Dolly is transcendent and I’m confident she could totally throw down with Rob on something heavy.

The video is from someone who is there, and I am so excited to see the professional footage when this whole thing airs on HBO Max on the 19th.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
