I’m not sure the last time you rolled thru Bumpus Mills, but man, be careful if you do.

Seems someone has found joy in vandalizing the roads and causing several cars to experience flat tires. Hundreds of nails and screws are being tossed out along Antioch Road and it’s wreaking havoc for a lot of drivers.

According to a story from WKRN Channel 2 in Nashville, one woman has had six flats over the course the last six weeks, just along Antioch Road. The driver said at first, she thought maybe they fell from a construction vehicle, but it’s become clear that someone is throwing nails all over the road on purpose.

This is not just annoying or aggravating. It’s expensive and dangerous. You can only patch a tire so many times and replacing them isn’t cheap. Not to mention, you hit one of those things just right and it causes a blow out, you could lose control of your vehicle and crash and that is a whole other issue.

The sheriff has had several reports, but unfortunately, no leads yet. He did ask that if anyone sees anything suspicious to get a plate number and description of the vehicle and let them know. Apparently, there is no pattern either. No certain day, no particular time of day.

With that in mind, be careful if you travel Antioch Road, In fact, find a different route thru Bumpus Mills all together if you can.
