Smarter Than the Average Bear

Smarter Than the Average Bear

As an animal lover, I can’t get enough of videos on the internet of them. No matter the animal, I will watch them all, I will be all ‘awwwwww’ about every single one. And the ones with wild animals, I hear the voice in my head saying “This is how you die” because I want to snuggle every single one of them.

I’ve seen many videos that come from Gatlinburg where the black bears seem to run the town as the go and do where and what they want and all I can think is, I need to book a vacation and wait for one to show up so I can take it home. Ok, it’s not quite that bad but I would love to experience seeing one climb into my hot tub or walking down the street in person.

Bears are smart. Like really smart. Some animal trainers even believe that bears are smarter than the average dog. Nevertheless, I still watch footage in awe, whether it’s cubs walking up to someone’s patio, climbing into the hot tub or opening a vehicle door. All impressive considering they do not posses opposable thumbs! Which brings us to this bear.

This video comes  from Lake Tahoe, NV and a bear that was on the hunt for food. he wandered up to a house, opened the garage door and saw nothing but a mess of buckets and and paints and other stuff. Really, the garage is quite the mess. The bear quickly realizes this garage is obviously not a pantry, there’s no food in site. So, the smart and yeah I’ll say it, polite, closed the garage door and moved on along. I’m sure the home owner is glad for this. If it were me, I’d be making a list of nuts and berries and Lord knows what else to put in there in case he decided to come back. Here’s some snacks bear, picnic basket not included.
