Miss Ruby has had a rough start to life. This beautiful girl was a victim of dumping. Not only that, but she was pregnant with 13 babies at the time, plus two boys, Bones and Bruiser, who are from a previous litter. She is around three-years-old and a lab mix. She’s about done nursing her babies and is looking for her FURever home. She is super chill, very, very sweet and is ready to just be able to relax and enjoy her life stress free. She’s available for adoption now thru Mikaela’s Mutt Motel.
Remember that August is National Dog Month, better known as “Dogust”! Celebrate by helping out our four-legged furry friends. Some ways you can do that:
Volunteer at a local rescue or shelter. Everything from walking, feeding, cleaning, playing and cuddling can be a huge help not only to the humans, but those dogs that are waiting to find their FURever homes.
Donate money or supplies. If you’ve got a few extra bucks, or feel like picking up extra items while you are doing your own shopping, again a huge help. Cleaning supplies, food, treats, toys, pee pads, and more.
Fundraise for your favorite rescue, shelter or dog organization. Have a garage sale, a bake sale, a car wash, or even a dog wash. You do some other good things for the community and the dogs.
Foster a dog. Shelters and rescues are always full and usually with a waiting list of others who are in need. Dogs do not thrive in a shelter. They get lonely and anxious and it can cause behavior issues. Fostering a dog gets them out of that mundane situation and into a stimulating environment where they can socialize, learn manners and get ready for their FURever home.
