As if having Dave Grohl as your dad isn’t awesome enough, you then have his talent genes coursing thru your body and at the age of 15, he takes you on to late night television to perform together.

Violet Grohl joined her awesome dad on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week to perform a cover of the 1980 X classic “Nausea”. The tune is featured in Dave’s new documentary, What Drives Us which debuts tomorrow on Amazon. The film follows two young bands, Radkey and Starcrawler and their journey on the road.  I actually saw and interviewed Radkey a couple of years back at Louder Than Life.

“This film is my love letter to every musician that has ever jumped in an old van with their friends and left it all behind for the simple reward of playing music. What started as a project to pull back the curtain on the DIY logistics of stuffing all of your friends and equipment into a small space for months on end eventually turned into an exploration of ‘why? What drives us?’”

Joining Dave and Violet for the Kimmel performance was Dave’s former Nirvana band mate, Krist Novaselic, former Slayer drummer, Dave Lombardo and songwriter Greg Kurstin
