Reason #949 to Love Dave Grohl: A New Documentary Film

I have an ever-growing list of reasons to love Dave Grohl. A talented drummer, singer, song writer, great sense of humor, loves coffee, takes challenges from a ten-year-old drummer and a documentary film maker.

In 2013, Dave brought the amazing story of Sound City Studios where legends, including Nirvana, had recorded. There was even a spectacular soundtrack, “Sound City: Real to Reel” that won two Grammys. You can watch “Sound City” on Prime.

I’d been hearing rumors of a new effort from Mr. Grohl, film maker. Yesterday, the trailer for “What Drives Us” arrived.

The film is inspired the grit, determination and the DIY attitude of so many bands that started out crammed into a van. The documentary features appearances from Ringo Starr, Flea, Brian Johnson, Slash, Duff McKagan, Lars Ulrich and more.

The film hits Prime on April 30th. Here’s a peak!

Oh, let’s add author to his repertoire. Last week Grohl announced his memoir, The Storyteller and will be released on October 5th.
