Reason #947 to Love Dave Grohl: He’s a Tease!

Foo Fighters took to social media last night dropping hints about new music. And why not? No one can tour, you might as well write and record a new album.

The letter “X” was showing up in posts yesterday which of course is the Roman numeral for 10.  Some online streaming popped up a black and white burning coffin on certain Foo Fighters tracks.

Later in the day, these two clips arrived on Twitter. One of what appears to be Pat Smear’s eyeball, the other, Taylor Hawkins.

See that “#LPX in the corner? Indicative of album number 10! Now we don’t know much obviously as these are just isolated tracks. But I’m sure in the days to come, we can expect more teases!

According to an article posted on NME, they say back in May Dave Grohl was comparing the new work to David Bowie’s 1983 album, “Let’s Dance”. I can’t be mad about that.

“It’s filled with anthemic, huge, sing-along rock songs, it’s kind of like a dance record, but not an EDM, disco, modern dance record. It’s got groove. To me, it’s our David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ record. That’s what we wanted to make, we wanted to make this really up, fun record. There are choruses on this record that 50-fucking-thousand people are gonna sing, and it’s gonna bring everyone’s fucking hearts together in that moment, and that’s what it’s all about.”

In the meantime, tune in to NBC on Saturday night for SNL as Dave Chappell will host and the Foo Fighters are the music guest. Hell, that might actually make SNL worth watching for once!
