Ozzy’s surgery went well. Wife Sharon posted to her social media about an hour ago.

The Prince of F-ing Darkness is going under the knife today for what is being called a “major operation.”

A statement from Ozzy Osbourne‘s wife Sharon, said that this surgery is “really going to determine the rest of his life.” The nature of the surgery remains undisclosed, but it could have something to do with an injury he suffered years ago.

Nearly 20 years ago, Ozzy crashed on his ATV and hasn’t been the same since. Over the years, the pain and issues have compounded, causing difficulties even with just walking. Ozzy told Classic Rock magazine in a May interview that

“I’m just waiting on some more surgery on my neck. I can’t walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road.”

Ozzy’s had other issues of course, like battling drugs and alcohol but has been sober eight years now. He also was diagnosed with “PRKN 2”, a type of Parkinson’s disease that Sharon says:

“It’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s — it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”

While Ozzy wants to get back to work, he does recognize time is limited, sayig “At seventy f-ing three, I’ve done pretty well. I don’t plan on going anywhere, but my time is going to come.”

Sharon flew home to be with him thru the procedure and will celebrate their 40th anniversary in July.

We wish Ozzy well with the surgery today and the recovery to come.
