On Chris Cornell’s Birthday, We Get the Gift

It’s an odd day.  Today marks the anniversary of the moon landing; the death of Bruce Lee; the birth of Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam; the anniversary of the movie theatre shooting in Aurora, CO; the birthday of Carlos Santana; the third anniversary of the death of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park; and the birthday of Chris Cornell.

It’s conflicting to see so many negative things entwined with good things. And while we still mourn the loss of Chris Cornell, today would have been his 56th birthday.

Cornell’s widow, Vicky, wants the world to celebrate Chris today.

She has released and asked that radio across the country partake in the sharing of his version of “Patience” by Guns n Roses. We listened to the track last week and to say it gives goosebumps is an understatement.

You will hear the song throughout the day, but in case you miss it or just can’t get enough of it, you can listen/watch here.

There’s really nothing else that needs to be said.

Just enjoy.
