No one will forget the devastation that literally ripped thru Mayfield and Western Kentucky in December of last year. No one will forget the terror of that night. No one will forget the loss. No one will be able to replace everything they lost.

Tragedy has a way of bring people together. Friends, neighbors, complete strangers. Even rock stars.

Norwood, Ontario, Canadian rockers, Three Days Grace are those rock stars.

The band dropped their seventh album on May 6th called “Explosions” and a hit single of “So Called Life”.  The follow-up single just made it to radio a few weeks ago but about three weeks before the album release, the band took that second single and turned it into something really incredible: an opportunity to help out a small town in Kentucky.

“Lifetime” is a song about loss. About losing someone you love. Things that ring loud and true to the residents of Mayfield. The band went so far as to travel to Mayfield and witness the damage first hand and film the video for the song.

The post on the Three Days Grace website:

“Lifetime” Out Now & Help Mayfield, KY

11 Apr 2022

Our new single “Lifetime” is out now HERE.

The video for “Lifetime” was filmed in Mayfield, Kentucky, and is dedicated to the people of Mayfield, where one of the deadliest tornados in recent history devastated the town in December 2021.

To help the people of Mayfield, you can donate to the Mayfield Tornado Relief Fund HERE or the Mayfield Independent School District HERE.

In addition, we also announced our EXPLOSIONS Tour in North America. The band has partnered with PLUS1 for the US tour dates, so that $1 of every ticket will go to supporting tornado recovery efforts in Mayfield, Kentucky.

To say the video is haunting and heartbreaking is an understatement. This is not a movie set. This is not a set up production. This is real actual footage with real residents that lost everything. Pets that have been displaced. It’s hard not to cry watching it.

Strangers, rock stars.

Stepping up to help a community in a state, a country, they don’t even live anywhere close to. Mad respect, gentlemen. Mad respect.

The aforementioned North American tour kicks off July 11 in Quebec and will wrap up September 4th at the Rocklahoma Festival. They will be making a stop at Marathon Music Works in Nashville on August 6th.

Buy a ticket, go to the show and help these families while you’re at it. Donations are also still being taken. The link is above in the band’s statement.
