Danish rockers Volbeat have dropped another single from their latest album Servant of the Mind. “Becoming” is the third single to be released from the band’s eighth studio album.  and it’s a banger!

From the moment the first guitar chord strikes, your pupils will fully dilate, the hairs on the back of your neck will spring upright to full attention and you feel your heart begin to race. That first moment, you instantly know the sound that belongs to Rob Caggiano.

Caggiano joined Volbeat in 2013, making his presence known on the last four albums. Bringing more and more of his thrash style that he contributed to his years in Anthrax. And on the new track, his riffs are met with the double kick drum making sure the first thirty seconds grab you by the throat and make your teeth rattle. The rest of the song is everything you love about Volbeat, with melodies, harmonies and catchy ass lyrics. Oh, and the last thirty seconds slaps you across the face with a wicked shred solo.

For me, Rob Caggiano is the best thing to happen Volbeat.

By the way, prior to Anthrax, Rob was in a band called Boiler Room from 1996 to 2001. They were signed to Roadrunner Records and had one album there, Can’t Breathe. Highly underrated and I was bummed they never got the love they deserved. Check out “Do It Again”, your ears should recognize Rob’s work.
