Time to get you caught up on a few of the new things we are spinning here on Z975.

I was so thrilled to see that veteran punk rocker, Billy Idol, was releasing new music. It’s been since 2014’s Kings & Queens of the Underground since there was new material from him, although he did release a live album in 2016, BFI Live! and a remix album in 2018, Vital Idol: Revitalized. The new effort is a four-song EP, The Roadside, and is available now. When this tune first hit my ears I felt a tingle, not just because it was something new, but something very different than what the typical Billy Idol fan is familiar with. It almost has a Chris Isaac feel to it and I love it!  Check out “Bitter Taste”

Fuel got their start in 1989 in Harrisburg, PA in 1989 and hit it big on rock radio in the late 90s and early 00’s with hits like “Shimmer”, “Bad Day” and “Hemorrhage (in My Hands).  The band went thru a lineup chance in 2006 when frontman, Brett Scallions departed and was replaced by Toryn Green. Green left and Scallions was back in in 2010 and then back out again as of last year. A few members came and went during that time too.  So enter yet another new voice to Fuel, John Corsale and the return of original members, guitarist Carl Bell and drummer Kevin Miller. pop The new album, Anomaly will drop October 22nd. Check out the new single, “Hard”

Michigan rockers, Pop Evil, are back with their new album, Versatile. The sixth release from this band is on its second single, “Survivor”. This song title seems fitting considering the changes that this band has gone thru in the last several years. Most notably was the departure of drummer Chachi Marunde in 2015, who was replaced in 2016 with an equally bad ass skin crushing lady, Haley Cramer behind the kit. Earlier this year, bassist Matt DiRito left the band as well. While no official replacement has been named, Devour the Day/Egypt Central bassist Joey Walser is filling in on the band’s current tour dates.
