My Favorite Part of Football Season

My Favorite Part of Football Season

Overall, I prefer hockey over football. But growing up I was a big fan of the Raiders because of guys like Lyle Alzado and Howie Long and the Cowboys because of their cheerleaders. Yes, once upon a time, I dreamed of being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

I grew up in Nebraska, where football is life. With the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, we had church on Saturday. This also makes me love college ball much more than the NFL.  Once I got past the realization that being a cheerleader was not for me,  thanks to my dad, I grew up watching Kansas City Royals baseball and of course the Kansas City Chiefs came along for me in my teen years.

I will admit tho, that because of the circus the NFL became, I quit watching. I stuck with college ball because those boys still play for the love of the game and not the paycheck (yet). This year, because of how well the Tennessee Titans played and of course the Chiefs, I paid a bit more attention this year especially during the playoffs and yes, I rejoiced, A LOT, at the outcome of Superbowl LIV. I mean this year there were some great milestones including Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid getting his first ring, the Chiefs getting their first Superbowl win in 50 years, the Chiefs proving that until the clock has completely run out, never bet against them as they are the comeback kings; and of course 100 years of the NFL.

Regardless of the team, the season or the Superbowl, my favorite part of the football season? Bad Lip Reading. The Bad Lip Reading YouTube channel has nearly 8 million subscribers. I’m sure you’ve seen the videos, they come out every year with the NFL, there’s been ones made for Game of Thrones and a multitude of others. But it’s the NFL ones that I love the most. And this one, ringing in at 10 minutes, provided a lot of honest to God laugh out loud moments.

So please, enjoy “NFL 2020 – A Bad Lip Reading”

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary."
