Move Over Edible Undies. Here Comes the Edible Facemask

Let’s face it, we are all over the face mask. Like, so over it. But there are some places and situations where they are still requested and even required.

I have a variety of masks because I wanted to try and make the best of a bad situation. I’ve got one with glow in the dark print, I’ve got a Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, several Baby Yoda and the basic disposable as well.

This however, might be just too much. A bakery in Japan has created an edible face mask that you can wear and then eat.  The mask is made of a sweet bread called melonpan and essentially looks like a waffle that you strap to your face. Uh….. ok.

Sounds like a novelty item but the company that makes them says no. In fact, they claim that these edible masks are just as effective as a cloth mask.  Sure, ok. But what about all the potential Covid and hell, even non Covid germs that are all over that thing?

So many questions but my brain will stop with this one: WHY?
