Mercedes Gets The Metallica “Black” Treatment

The Bay Area Thrashers just celebrated the 30 anniversary of their self titled release, better known as The Black Album. To celebrate, they issued a massive box set that’s fitting for the Metallica super fan.

Now, the celebration is expanding to a brand new special edition Mercedes Benz. (And the haters thought Metallica hit the level of “sell out” just with the album 30 years ago!)

Scrolling thru my Facebook news feed the other day, I came to a screeching halt when I saw this video of dare I say sexy ass ride with “For Whom the Bell Tolls” cranking along with it. The blacked-out Mercedes AMG GT Stealth edition.  I’m not one impressed by cars, but this one… yeah, I drooled a little bit.

It’s no secret that Mercedes is a pricey ride. But this one – this one you can win. Yup, Metallica and Mercedes are teaming up to benefit the Metallilca All Within My Hands Foundation. This foundation helps workforce education, the fight against hunger and other local services for communities in need.  Since this is a fundraiser, donations are suggested but not required for entry. You can register on the Omaze website.

Check out pretty this ride is!

With top speeds of 193mph, 523 ponies under the hood, this ride is worth over $150 grand. Check out some of the specs on this bad boy:

Night Package blacks out all trim on the exterior and interior, 19” front and 20” rear Black Y-spoke AMG wheels, Black AMG brake calipers, Black-element LED headlights, dark-chrome grille, AMG Performance seats in Black with diamond quilting, microsuede steering wheel with Black spokes and paddles, AMG Black Piano Lacquer trim, badge in center console denoting special edition model, fully digital instrument cluster, 10.25” high-resolution touchscreen center display

Like I said, I’m not impressed much by cars, but this one, yea, I’d roll proudly cranking all the Metallica.
