Let’s Talk Hockey – Clarksville Welcomes the Red River Spartans with Open Arms

To say I’m excited about finally getting our very own hockey team in Clarksville is an understatement. I had the chance to sit down with Red River Spartans owners, Jon Tuggle and Martin Wilson and color commentator, Charlie Saunier to talk about why the team made the move to Clarksville and a preview of opening weekend, the 21-game home schedule and plans to give back to the community. The season opens Friday September 13th at the F&M Bank Arena with the 9/11 Never Forget game and Saturday September 14th with the Red Out Game and pregame tailgate party at Star Spangled Brewing, complete with the release of the exclusive Spartans Pilsner

While you are at the games, if you hear a familiar voice echoing thru the rafters announcing goals, penalties and sponsors, that would be ME! I have joined the Spartans staff as the Public Address Announcer and On Ice Master of Ceremonies. As I said, to say I’m excited is an understatement!

Fresh

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
