Halloween. Spooks, ghosts, goblins, candy, pranks, scary movies and partying for the adults.  A day we like to dress to impress with the intent of making someone laugh or scare the crap out of them, even the plethora of ‘sexy’ costumes. Year after year, you have to come up with something new or something to outdo what you did the year before. Long gone are the days of just throwing on a sheet or a cape and calling it a day. While children tend to compete over who can acquire the most candy, adults are in it for the prize money or at least to be the most talked about at the party.

For me, my love of pirates keeps me in costume each year, even though I don’t invest the funds into the expensive, fancy stuff. I literally grab whatever comes out each year at Walmart. Previous years, I’ve done the witch, fairy and one year, I cross dressed as a male friend of mine. Honestly, that one was the most epic as I made everyone in the party do a double take because they thought I was him.  Honestly, there is no way for me to top that, so I just look for a new pirate outfit each year.

If you struggle coming up with a Halloween costume, Google is here to help. They launched a site called Frightgeist With Google and in it, there is a tab called “Costume Wizard”. Apparently this has been around since 2019, but it’s been on the DL. The Costume Wizard let’s you select different things like trending costumes in your state and the US, your desired level of uniqueness, modernness and more based on a scale of zero to 100.

I tried it out for fun and went totally random on my selections I chose 92% on spookiness level, classic (over modern), national for my trend and 100% unique.

My result: VOODOO. Ok cool, the problem is, it only gives you the idea/word/category. After that it appears you are on your own to piece together the perfectly spooky, classic, unique voodoo costume.

Don’t worry, if you want to be basic, there is a list of the top 50 costumes with a witch being number one. What? No Naughty Nurse? Cop? So disappointed.
