UPDATE:

A rep for Steven Adler reports that the wound was “very minor” and “superficial” and  caused by an accident, not a suicide attempt.

Adler, according to the rep, still plans to play a show in Las Vegas on July 12th. He did not mention details of the accident.

The following was the original story…..

Late last night, TMZ reported that Steven Adler, former Guns n Roses drummer, had been hospitalized for what appears to be a self-inflicted knife wound.

A spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed that officers responded to Adler’s home around 6:30pm PT last night. Officers determined the incident to be a non-life-threatening medical emergency only and transported Adler to the hospital.

According to TMZ, when police arrived, they discovered that Adler had somehow stabbing himself in the stomach. The reason is unclear at this time.

Adler has struggled with substance abuse for years, which ultimately lead to his dismissal from Guns n Roses in 1990. In 2008, Adler was a part of the MTV show, “Celebrity Rehab” with Dr Drew as well as the spin off show, “Sober House”.
