Dogs and Pizza. Two of my favorite things. So you know I’m going to get excited when I hear a story about a woman in Upstate New York with a brilliant mind and a heart of gold.

Mary Alloy owns a pizzeria in Amherst, NY and volunteers at an animal shelter there. Someone from the Niagra SPCA shelter approached her about putting flyers on her pizza boxes donning photos of dogs that are up for adoption. Imagine, you order a pizza, it gets delivered to your door and on the box is the furry soul mate you’ve been looking for. Dogs and Pizza… total win!

Mary went a step further than just gracing her pizza boxes with adorable furry faces. She is offering up $50 gift cards to the Just Pizza & Wings Company to anyone who presents the flyer when they adopt. So, you get the pizza, you go to the shelter, you adopt that amazing mug, or perhaps a different adoptable baby, and you get $50 in free pizza! Man, I am LOVING Mary right now!

For the record, Mary is a cat person, which makes this even more awesome. She is currently fostering 13 shelter cats in her own home.

I think the next step is, flyers of cats on the boxes too. I mean, I have cats and love pizza. I have dogs and love pizza.  Many cats and almost all dogs love pizza. So the perfect combination is out there!

Perhaps we can get a local pizza joint to hook up with the Montgomery County Animal  Control and Adoption Services  and Clarksville Humane Society to do the same here?

Here’s a photo of one her pizza boxes and a pup up for adoption!

This campaign just started on Friday 2/28, and by the end of the day, a pup named Larry found his furever home. Check out the story from WKBW

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
