Disturbed Frontman to sing at Super Bowl?

It’s no secret that the NFL and the Super Bowl in particular have shunned the rock world and not just when it comes to the half time show. Once again, this year’s half time show will NOT feature rock artists. This year, the NFL has chosen Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to perform, as a celebration of Hispanic heritage of Miami, where Super Bowl LIV will be played.

Disturbed frontman, David Draiman is wanting our help to fulfill a lifelong dream of singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

“I’ve dreamt of doing it my entire life. Been rehearsing it since I was a little boy. I love my country, and I would be honored beyond words to have the opportunity to try and inspire, strengthen, and give hope, at a time when we need those things more than ever. Plus…it would be nice to have rock represented on SOME level at the Super Bowl, and to prove to everyone that there ARE rock singers out there who can do the anthem as much justice as ANY pop artists out there, and even possibly take it higher.”

Billboard has a poll up now asking people who they think should sing the Anthem before the 2020 Big Game and currently Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco is in the fan lead. However, Draiman and Disturbed are urging for the write in vote.  The band took to their social media asking fans to “Stir it Up… Open the link, type in David Draiman in the other section and click VOTE”

I for one, am absolutely down with this sickness!! I mean, it’s football. It’s the Super Bowl. It’s long overdue to have some kind of actual rock band involved.

So here’s the link to vote for David Draiman to sing the National Anthem. It’s up to us rock fans to make our VOICES heard!  So write him in, vote and share!

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us
