DEVELOPING: All That Remains Guitarist’s Death Under Investigation

Bizarre behavior from Widow is raising questions. Photo: Z-97.5

The rock world was shook when we learned of the death of Oli Herbert, guitarist for All That Remains. Herbert died on October 16th at the age of 44. His body was found in a pond behind the house that Herbert lived in with his wife, Beth.

On November 10th, Beth issued a statement regarding the findings of Oli’s death and her “tone” certainly raised some eyebrows. Her statement:

Good morning everyone this is Beth. And indeed it IS a good morning; Toxicology results are back as is the official cause of my husband’s death!
Cause of death- Drowning
Toxicology- Oli was apparently self-treating for manic-depression that has run in his family for several generations. Anti-depressants were found in his system, as well as a sleep aid. The psych meds found in his system were the same ones that a close relative has been prescribed for a long time, so he knew what to hunt down for the “treatment”. Seeing how he was not going (and WOULDN’T GO) to a doctor to get diagnosed with the issue and was not being prescribed the medications and monitored on them, it explains his occasional erratic behavior here at home.
As far as why the memorial was cancelled; concern for my personal safety and home due to numerous threats to both is the reason.
If anybody knows where Oli was getting the psych meds, please call CT State Police, Troop C in Tolland, CT.

The fact that she said “And indeed it IS a good morning…” doesn’t sound like the words of a grieving widow. In fact even more questions are being raised about her and potential involvement in Oli’s death.

A Facebook page started by “close friends” who wish to remain anonymous for the time being, Justice for Oli Herbert, has been posting a lot of content in the last few weeks questioning Beth’s behavior, comments she has made publicly on her Facebook page, as well as Oli’s Facebook page (which Beth has commandeered), including a multitude of screen shots all that just don’t add up.  It also appears that shortly after Beth makes these posts, she deletes them but not before screen shots can be grabbed by those with suspicions. Even the post she made with the above statement has since been deleted.

Posts have included photos of the pond where Oli was found; a burnt photo of the two of them, screen shots of text conversations and odd posts made the day of his death about the beautiful view of said pond. It’s also alleged that Oli’s Corgi died mysterious as well, and that is raising questions.  Beth also canceled a public memorial stating that “concern for my personal safety and home due to numerous threats to both is the reason. ” Beth also has tried to indicate an alleged drug problem, saying that Oli was “restless” the night of his death and that he knew how to get his hands on psyche meds. (see Beth’s statement above)

All That Remains front man, Phil Labonte, says this about Oli:

“I was shocked,” said All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte in a recent radio interview. “He was 44 years old, and he wasn’t really a big partier. He would go hang out with people and stuff, but he didn’t really do a lot of drinking… He didn’t do drugs, he didn’t really drink a lot.”

In just a couple of days, word is getting around raising doubt about Beth and questions about Oli’s death. Spreading from the Justice for Oli Herbert page, to various other Facebook pages, Grimm Gent. com and finally today, the Hartford Courant published that the Connecticut State Police have launched an investigation into Beth and the suspicion of foul play. While Beth issued a statement saying that Oli drowned, the state medical examiner’s report states the cause of death is “undetermined”.

As additional information becomes available we will keep you posted. Connecticut State Police are continuing to gather evidence.
