Since the 70s, Dee Snider has been an entertainer. He fronted Twisted Sister, Widowmaker, Desperado and SMFs. He’s done solo projects. He hosts a two hour classic metal/rock show called “House of Hair”. He’s written, directed, produced and starred in his own movie,  Dee Snider’s Strangeland (1998). He went to Capitol Hill in 1984 with Frank Zappa and others to fight against censorship in the music industry. In short, Dee is all about doing for others.

Last night, Dee’s son, Jesse, shared a video on Facebook from his father on how they are dealing with this pandemic. Like many, Dee took to the internet from his own self isolation to share his thoughts and offer up a way to help during these trying times.  As Dee will tell you, he IS an entertainer. He likes to make people smile. So, Dee is taking advantage of his down time to record messages to fans that are infected and fighting Covid19.  While Dee is using the “Cameo” app, he has no plans to charge.  If you aren’t familiar, Cameo is a way for celebs to make some side money and to have something way cool to share with fans. (Unless it’s Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray. If you see a message from him, don’t open it, they seem to be break ups and firings!)

So yes, while it usually cost money for such Cameos, Dee is offering to record messages for those who are sick free of charge.

I’ve been blessed to have met and talked with Dee on a couple different occasions and he truly is an amazing human being! Such a great soul.

So if you know someone sick with C19 and is a fan of Dee’s, watch here to find out how you can send them a Cameo.
