Yes, you read a headline that began with a singer of a genre we don’t play or normally even care about. But I feel obligated to treat you to this.

Back in May, Carrie Underwood was joined by Axl Rose of Guns ‘N Roses for a wild performance of a couple GNR tunes.

The former America Idol winner and country sweetheart just kicked off her new “Denim & Rhinestones” tour on October 15th in Greenville, SC. While the set featured eight songs from her new album and all the hits, Carrie reminded fans that at heart, she’s a lover of rock and roll and more specifically, Guns ‘N Roses.

She rose from under the stage, lit with red as the opening riff of “Welcome to the Jungle” was greeted to thousands of screams of approval. She even rocked a black leather jacket with the Appetite for Destruction logo patch on the back.

Say what you will, this woman knows way more than country music. I love seeing her let her proverbial freak flag fly. As a fellow metal head, it makes me proud.
