“Breaking Bad” Movie is Coming

It’s hard to believe it’s been six years since our favorite TV anti-hero was taken from us. Breaking Bad sucked us in with the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with cancer who was desperate to be able to provide for his family. You know the story; Walter put his skills to work with former student Jesse Pinkman, and became one the best meth cooks ever to be known.

For five seasons, we cheered, jeered and cried for Walter and Jesse. We learned to love and hate some of the characters (ah hem… his crazy freaking WIFE!) And I was quite sad that Walter met his demise in 2013.

For the last several years, there was rumor of a prequel, which sort of happened in the form of Better Call Saul, which I just could not get into. There was word some kind of follow up and it’s finally happening. Thanks to the show’s creator, (and The X-Files producer) Vince Gilligan, Jesse Pinkman will be blessing us with his one of a kind fubar’d charm in a new movie, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. The film picks up with Jesse escaping captivity and trying to come to terms with his past, which if you watched the show, know that it spiraled down a deep dark rabbit hole that was a far cry from being just a two bit meth dealer.

The film is set for “limited theatre release” on October 11th. Which means select theatres in big cities will get the film. Or you can do like I will, along with most of the world, will enjoy it from the comfort of our homes, perhaps in pj’s and popcorn that costs 50 cents to make instead of a $12 bucket.

While the trailer is dark, it’s tense and somewhat vague on plot and words (there’s literally three words spoken at the end of it),  I for one am IN. In fact I think I’ll binge all five seasons before this premieres.  Check out the trailer here:
