I love dogs. I love ice cream.
Yet, I have never purchased ice cream made specifically for dogs. I mean, growing up, my mom would make me go outside with my ice cream cones and I would quite literally share it lick for lick with my big white German Sheppard, Baron. When I do eat ice cream as an adult, I will share right from my spoon. Don’t worry, I never feed anything like chocolate or anything that could hurt them.
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream has announced two new ice creams that will hit the shelves this month, both of them specifically for our dogs. “Doggie Desserts” is made with sunflower-butter as it’s base as opposed to a milk or cream like most ice creams. This makes it easy on your pooch’s tummy.
The two flavors that will be hitting the store shelves this month are “Pontch’s Mix”, which is a peanut butter and pretzel flavor and “Rosie’s Batch” that is cookie and pumpkin. A four-ounce cup with set you back $3 or $5 for a four pack.
I don’t know about you, but those actually sound tasty and I would definitely try them.
And if you’re not careful, you might as the packaging is identical to our human versions.
