Another Metallica Mash Up: Dancing Shoes Required

Back in January, I came across a glorious mash up of Metallica and Huey Lewis. It never should have worked, but it did.

Mash up madman, Bill McClintock has done it again, putting Metallica together with an artist for a combination you never could have dreamed up on your own. Maybe part of that is because of whom that mash up is with and there’s an entire generation, maybe two, that have no clue who the dude is.

That dude is Gerard Hugh Sayer. Known in the music world as Leo Sayer. This English-Australian singer was huge in the 70s. He had a monster hit in 1976 called “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” and regardless if you knew the song or were a fan of disco, this is one of those songs that made you move against your will. What was even more amazing, is just how tiny Leo is: 5′ 4″. To put it in perspective, that is the exact height of the late metal legend, Ronnie James Dio. Tiny dudes with giant hair, weird coincidence.

Now growing up, there was a lot of different music in my household. We also watched The Muppet Show and I to this day can remember watching Leo on The Muppet Show.

Circling back around to the topic at hand, McClintock now brings us another Metallica track, “Sad But True” mashed up with Leo’s biggest hit, “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing”. And just like the mash up with Huey Lewis, this should not work, but it  does!  Yes, Metallica with a disco edge, hence dancing shoes required.
