Work week weather: In tornado’s aftermath, Clarksville faces nightly lows below freezing

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In the wake of the tornado that hit Clarksville Saturday, we’re now facing below-freezing temperatures tonight and for several days.

Sunday night’s low could reach 26 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Every night through Thursday the low will be around 30. Highs will start around 48 and rise to the mid-50s by Tuesday. Skies should be mostly sunny and clear.

There are three shelters open for those needing to get out of the cold.

Here’s the day-by-day outlook.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light west after midnight.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 48. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 30. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 55. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 32. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming north northeast after midnight.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Northeast wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 53. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
