UPDATE: Interstate 24 back open in Clarksville, but second wreck delays traffic

Update, 9:15 p.m.: The interstate is back open, and westbound traffic is clearing.

But there is now an eastbound wreck near mile marker 6 involving two vehicles, with no injuries. Eastbound traffic is backed up for about a mile.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 is shut down in Clarksville after a single-vehicle crash.

At about 7:46 p.m., a vehicle crashed in the westbound lanes near mile marker 6.8, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien.

I-24 westbound has been shut down at Exit 8 until the scene can be cleared.

At 8:45 p.m., traffic was backed up almost to Exit 11.

No further information has been released.
