With thousands of rooftops pelleted by hail and heavy winds in Clarksville last week, employees of Southern Roofing and Renovations have been busy checking for damage and doing repairs.

At about 4:15 p.m. on May 8, most of Montgomery County was hit by hail up to 2 inches in diameter, smashing some windows and damaging roofs. In some areas, people reported hail the size of softballs.

Owner Oswaldo Barajas said they have been working with their customers, providing trusted local roofing inspections and service.

“Our local people need to stay educated on who you’re utilizing for these services, ensuring that they are local and you know what their capabilities are and what their warranties are. That includes their workmanship warranty,” Barajas said.

His team offers complimentary inspections of damage, whether it’s extensive work or missing shingles. When the next storm comes through, damage could get worse, or the homeowner could fall out of the 12-month window to file a claim with the insurance company.

“We’re staffed with 35-plus people right now continuing to help people within the community, and we are capable of getting people in for scheduling within the week,” Barajas said.

Southern Roofing and Renovations has Platinum membership with Owens Corning, which only about 3 percent of contractors in the U.S. have, and that allows them to offer a 50-year warranty with the roofing systems they put on. A veteran-owned business, they specialize in working with insurance companies, making sure homeowners maximize their claim.

“Southern Roofing is here, and we’re trusted in the community. We’re going on our fourth year in this area, and we are the No. 1 revenue-safe company in the Clarksville area.

Southern Roofing and Renovations is at 601 Kraft St. #104. You can learn more about their services by visiting southernrnr.com, email srnrofficeclarksville@gmail.com, or call 931-264-4803.
