CLARKSVILLE, TN – Going Local Initiative (GLI) will begin accepting applications April 1 through May 31 for qualified individuals to become a first-time homebuyer through their program Barbara’s Way. Qualified applicants will be entered into a drawing, and a public lottery will be held to select the recipient.

GLI established in 2021, is a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) that provides decent, affordable housing to low and moderate-income families. Their program, Barbara’s Way, has one sole purpose—to make the dream of homeownership a reality by building homes and selling them at below market prices.

Construction began earlier this year on their first two home project and is expected to be complete by the end of Summer. The two homes are new construction multi-bedroom homes in the heart of downtown Clarksville. One of the two homes is awaiting the selection of an eligible homebuyer.
