CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With a few inches of snow covering Clarksville and sub-freezing temperatures keeping it that way, city and county authorities said Tuesday that Clarksville is mostly staying quiet, riding out the winter storm.

Jeep Crew

The Clarksville Jeep Crew has been driving the streets since Sunday night, searching for anyone who may have gone off the roads and needed help. According to crew member Crystal Liberatore, on Sunday night they helped recover 20 cars, and Monday they helped 15 to 20.

In the first 24 hours of snowfall, the Jeep Crew was able to help transport 27 healthcare workers to their jobs and homes.

“Our main goal as the crew is to help out in the community however we can,” Liberatore told Clarksville Now. “Our Jeeps are amazing in this weather. If we can help anyone out, we try!”

Managers for healthcare workers and first responders can email Clarksville Jeep Crew at clarksvillejeepcrew@gmail.com to schedule a pickup or get more information.

Manna Cafe

Things seem to be running smoothly at Manna Cafe, with generous food donations and volunteers willing to help, according to worker Tanya Johnson. She said the warming shelter is averaging about 30 people a night and is open 24 hours a day, hopefully until Thursday, when they can have some time to break and reset.

The shelter is at 503 D Street. For more information, visit their website or call 931-933-0970.

Road conditions

CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien said that the main roadways appear clear, and not many people are out traveling on them. A couple of minor crashes have been reported, but nothing significant. Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County Emergency Management said things have been quiet so far
