Here’s who’s running for state Legislature, School Board in Montgomery County

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The list of candidates for the Aug. 1 Montgomery County General Election and Tennessee Primary is now complete.

Three of the races are contested: the Republican Primary to replace retiring state Rep. Curtis Johnson in District 68, and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board races in District 2 and District 6. The rest are unopposed.

Thursday was the deadline for candidate qualification. The withdrawal deadline is April 11, so some candidates might still step out. Also on the ballot will be primaries for U.S. Senate and U.S. House.

About the election

The State Primary and County General Elections will be Aug. 1, with early voting July 12-27. The voter registration deadline is July 2.

Winners of the state party primaries will face one another in the State General and City Elections, with the presidential election, on Nov. 5.

The presidential election, with state and City of Clarksville elections, will be Nov. 5.
