CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Presidential Preference and Montgomery County Primary was held today, and polls closed at 7 p.m.

Here are the Montgomery County results in the contested presidential primary and contested local races, with early and absentee votes, plus 38 of 38 precincts reporting.

Presidential Republican Primary

  • Donald J. Trump, 75.74% (7,677 votes); statewide, 77.39%
  • Nikki Haley, 20.39% (2,067 votes); statewide, 19.48%

(All other GOP presidential candidates had less than 2%)

Assessor of Property, Republican Primary

About the election

Winners of the local party primaries will face one another in the County General Election and State Primary on Aug. 1.

Next up after that will be the presidential election, with state and City of Clarksville elections, on Nov. 5.
