CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – More than 1.3 million people voted early in the state of Tennessee between Oct. 17 and Nov. 1.
The final totals were released Friday by TN Secretary of State Tre Hargett.
Statewide, the number of early voters doubled from 2014 midterm election totals. This was reflected in Montgomery County as well. A total of 31,154 people voted early in the county this year, up from 13, 925 in 2014.

While these numbers did not quite match the early voting totals during the 2016 presidential election, they do show an increase in voter participation during midterm elections.
Election Day for the State General and City of Clarksville elections is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Registered voters in Montgomery County can vote at their designated polling places. All polling locations will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Election Day.
Tennesseans voting on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security as well as photo IDs issued by Tennessee state government or the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.
State law requires polling locations and the area within a 100-foot boundary surrounding each entrance remain campaign-free zones. Tennessee law prohibits the display or distribution of campaign materials and the solicitation of votes for or against any person, party or question on the ballot in these areas.
These offices will be on the ballot: Governor, US Senate, US House of Representatives, TN House of Representatives (Districts 67, 68 & 74), City of Clarksville Mayor, City Council (wards 1, 2, 6, 7, 10 & 11)
