CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been charged with assisting an alleged murder in escaping arrests after shooting two people, killing one, at Rotary Park in July 2019.

Robert Lee Jones III, was indicted in May and accused of providing “aid” to Blake Thomas Ludy, on July 28, 2019 after he allegedly shot two men at Rotary Park.

Jones allegedly ‘with the knowledge that Ludy had committed a felony’ provided aid for Ludy to avoid ‘arrest, trial, conviction or punishment,’ according to his indictment.

In t he early morning hours after 4 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies found Jesus Daniel Andrad-Landa, 18, from Springfield, in the park with gunshot injuries.  He was treated at the hospital and survived his injuries.

A second victim, Jonathan Coleman Crain, 19, from Greenbrier was discovered in a wooded area and died from his injuries.

According to the affidavit, Ludy asked the victims, Crain and Andrad-Landa, to drive from Nashville to “hang out.” When Crain picked up Ludy, he asked him to drive to Rotary Park, according to a previous report from NewsChannel5.

Andrad-Landa told police the three of them were sitting outside the vehicle near the playground when Ludy said “it sure is peaceful out here.”  Andrad-Landa then realized Ludy had shot him.

Ludy reportedly chased after Crain toward the woods, shooting at him. Crain was heard pleading for Ludy to stop. As he heard five more gunshots, Andrad-Landa called 911, according to the Channel5News report.

Ludy was charged with one count of first-degree murder and indicted by the grand jury in May.
