Battle armor, equipment stolen from Fort Campbell, $1,000 reward issued by Army CID

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Agents with the US Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Campbell are searching for a person or persons who broke into a building on post and stole several pieces of military equipment and body armor.

Last month, someone gained unlawful access to Building 5733, the Rapid Fielding Initiative Facility (RFI), according to CID. Various items were stolen, including Integrated Head Protection System (IHPS) helmets, Improved Outer Tactical Vests (IOTVs), and ruck sacks.

CID spokesperson Keith Smith told Clarksville Now there were two break-ins, the first between Jan. 3 and 4, and the second later on in the month. Smith was unable to say how many of each item were stolen.

CID is offering a $1,000 dollar reward for any credible information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglaries. Anyone with information on the incident should contact the Army CID Fort Campbell Resident Agency at 931-801-0316. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Army CID Submit-A-Tip form or on the Army CID website.
