Korn Guitarist Munky steps off tour, fill-in announced

Korn is in the middle of one of the summer’s top tours. The band is touring with Alice in Chains, Underoath, Fever 333 and Ho99o9. During this next week, they’ll be performing without their guitarist, James “Munky” Shaffer.

Munky is stepping away from the group as he awaits the birth of his daughter with his wife. He’ll be out of action starting today (August 6) through Sunday (August 11).

JR Bareis will be taking his place for a few dates. Bareis has played alongside Brian “Head” Welch is his Love and Death band. He first came to attention as a member of Islander and has also played with the band Spoken.

Bareis will be sitting in with the band in Wantagh (N.Y.), Holmdel (N.J.), Mansfield (Mass.), Hartford (Ct.) and Saratoga Springs (N.Y.).
