CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) For a few hours Saturday the traffic was continuous at James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac as hundreds of military ID holders drove through the parking lot to pick up their free turkey in the “Turkeys for Troops” giveaway. A total of 1,000 Turkeys were handed out to active duty and retired military personnel and their families.

Joining James Corlew as main sponsors were F&M Bank and LifePoint Church. Other local businesses lending their support were 5 Star Media Group, Wal-Mart, Hand Family Companies, Sam’s Club and Ajax Distributing Company. There were also dozens of volunteers from the businesses as well as the Austin Peay State University Govs Baseball Team.

Vice President of the dealership, James Corlew, commented on the event. “This is a small gesture of thanks from our sponsors, their employees and families to show support for our troops in their constant endeavor to preserve our freedom, a fact we so often take for granted,” said Corlew.
