Former President George HW Bush shaved his head this week to show solidarity with a member of his Secret Service detail’s young son who is battling cancer.

Patrick, 2, is being treated for leukemia. The 89-year-old former president shaved his head after learning many members of his security detail had already shaved their heads in support, according to a post on the 41st president’s Facebook page.

Members of the detail have set up a website – www.patrickspals.org – where donors can contribute to assist with Patrick’s medical bills.

The Bushes lost their second child, Robin, to leukemia 60 years ago this October. Robin was 4-years-old.
