LAS VEGAS (AP) — The father of Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer was reluctant to read Spencer’s autobiography.

Spencer’s father told him no parent wants to read about his son’s sex and drug exploits, but he felt there would be a benefit in sharing Spencer’s story.

Spencer’s autobiography is called “Death Punch’d: Surviving Five Finger Death Punch’s Metal Mayhem.”

He decided to write his memoir the day he left treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.

Spencer says it may be arrogant to think anyone will want to read his life story, but he’ll be happy if he can help just one person. He will donate part of the profits to NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals.

The book comes out Sept. 2.
