Bonnaroo Re-Cap
Bonnaroo Re-Cap

Hey! Fresh off my 6th Bonnaroo, I figured I would share some of my thoughts about the bands I saw this weekend.

Paul McCartney- I really don’t know how Bonnaroo could EVER top his performance. It was one of the most incredible shows I’ve ever seen. He did 38 songs, in nearly 3 hours. Everything from “Helter Skelter” to “Day Tripper”.

ZZ Top- The Texas trio was pretty good, but after McCartney, seemed a little boring.

Chris Stapleton (pictured)- He is the BEST thing to come out of Nashville in a long, long time. He’s had hit songs recorded by artists like: Adele, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw etc. Now, he’s relasing an album and I can’t wait!

Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors- Very cool, chill band. Check out their song “Tennessee”.

Dwight Yoakam- I love old school country and Dwight was on his A-game. He did some of his own songs, but also some covers like “Act Naturally” and “Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud Music”

Jack Johnson- One word: boring.

R. Kelly- Five words: I believe I can fly. Yeah it happened, complete with white bird shaped balloons.

Macklemore and Ryan Lews: AWESOME!! A weekend highlight. “Crowd surf the coat” was the best!

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes: A crowd favorite, they were really cool. I only knew one song, “Home” and it was pretty good!

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: What an excellent way to cap off Bonnaroo! They cranked out the hits!
